Focus This Program focuses on assisting youth and their families in addressing issues that affect their healthy developmental growth and well-being.
Population Served This Program serves youth of both sexes up to the age of 18 who are experiencing problems resulting from divorce adjustment, low self-esteem, parent-child relationships, physical or sexual abuse, depression, substance abuse, attention deficit disorder and other issues.

Focus A family focused program partially funded and coordinated by the McHenry County Mental Health Board in conjunction with a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services. Providing intensive community-based Screening, Assessment, and Support Services and their families, in order to maintain in or return a youth to their home and community.
Population Served Target population to be served is youth, 17 years of age and younger whose ability to function at home, school or within the community is severely impaired. They may be a risk of being placed in a more restrictive setting such as a residential treatment center or psychiatric hospital.
All youth being referred to a state operated psychiatric facility, will be screened by the S.A.S.S. Program, for possible alternative treatment resources and support services.

Program Benefits The S.A.S.S. program provides at risk youth and families the evaluation, support and necessary linkage with the community resources that they need to stabilize and maintain their situations.
If you think you have a case that would be appropriate for this service, please contact -the S.A.S.S. Central Referral Coordinator at 815-455-2262, to provide intake information that will be made available to the S.A.S.S. Assessment Review Panel, which meets bi-monthly to fill available slots.
